What to do in Tenterden this Easter

Easter is a bit later than last year, which hopefully will bring some much needed warmth after a chilly few weeks!  Tenterden is a great place to visit with the kids during the holidays, there are plenty of places to eat and drink and lots of independent shops to explore.  We’ve highlighted some of the best places to visit, please let us know if we’ve missed any.

Kent and East Sussex Railway

Bunny eggstravaganza at the Railway!  Hunt down the cheeky bunnies hiding around the station at Tenterden, board the train and enjoy our easter themed activity workbooks on board the train and then join our easter egg trail around the country station at Bodiam before claiming your delicious FREE prize in the Gift shop!

To add to the fun, from Good Friday 15th to Easter Monday 18th April, the Easter Bunny will be making appearances at Tenterden Town station during each day – a great opportunity to get that selfie!  For this bank holiday weekend, children can also make their very own Easter crowns on-board the trains for no extra cost and decorate them during the journey.

Book your preferred date online and save on fares by booking online in advance.  Activities detailed above are free for those purchasing tickets to travel with us and are not included with purchases of platform tickets.

The museum is open from 1st April and there are lots of things for children to do.  There are three different quizzes for children of all ages including the ever-popular Mouse Trail.  Following a sheet of clues, you have to find the mice and see if you can answer the question that the mice are asking.  Dotted around the Museum are some fun activities for children to do: guess “What’s in the Box”, play “Haul Away” or “Trap the Rat”.  In our Kids Activity Zone there is table space for children to draw or colour and get hands on with some artefacts they can play with.  They can collect a Wheels of Time badge here and get the latest information about the other museums they can visit in Kent.

Did you know that Tenterden has a Family Fun Trail you can follow to find out more about the town and its historical locations? You can pick up a paper copy in the Museum or download one here
